The Scotsman is a luxury hotel which retains many original features, including luxurious floor to ceiling wood panelled rooms, grandiose marble staircase and stained glass windows. Set across several floors, many of our character bedrooms offer truly unrivalled views of Edinburgh Castle, The Mound, Carlton Hill and The Princes Street Gardens.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and hardworking individual to join our team as the hotel’s new Reception Manager

As Reception Manager your primary focus will be to ensure that each of our guests receive the warmest and most genuine of welcomes; you will be responsible for ensuring that they are checked in and checked out with minimal disruption. You will be fantastic at dealing (efficiently) with guest enquiries and providing as much information about the hotel, our services and the local area is an important aspect of your role.

You will be responsible for a small team of receptionists in this very “hands-on” role which requires you to work shifts including evening and weekend work.

You will enjoy working with others, have a great "can do" approach to customer service and importantly have a friendly approach to everyone who you come in contact with. You will be comfortable motivating and leading a team, and have the ability to work independently with great problem solving skills.

Experience in a similar management role is a must and experience with computerised reservations, particularly Opera, would be advantageous.

A full induction into the role will be given; you will also be expected to attend on-going training as required.
