Murrayfield Hotel is an established hotel, restaurant and bar, serving the finest local produce, ales and premium spirits. It caters for all functions, weddings, funerals, and meetings. With such close proximity to Murrayfield stadium the venue also caters for large events.
The position of night porter is a responsible role within the Hotel. Often being the only person on duty during the night, you will be required to ensure that all guests’ requests are dealt with efficiently, in addition to ensuring the safety and security of the hotel.
You will be required to check guests in and out of the hotel, and respond to telephone queries. Additionally, you will be required to fulfill general reception and administration duties, set up for breakfast, serve coffees and refreshments, perform light cleaning tasks, comply with Health and Safety guidelines, assist the bar managers with any set-up or prep work and deal with the residents bar.
Excellent communication skills are required for the role, in addition to a flexible “can do” approach to customer service. You will enjoy working autonomously in varied shift patterns, which the role requires, on weeknights and over the weekend. You will be able to work in a team, but also have the ability to work independently with great problem solving skills. A full induction into the role will be given; you will also be expected to attend on-going training as required.
