We are looking for an experienced and talented Kitchen Porter to join our fantastic venue, Inn On The Mile.

Located on the Royal Mile, in the heart of the city centre, the Inn On The Mile offers an alternative boutique and luxury hotel experience in one of Edinburgh's most prestigious historic landmarks. The Mile pub is a focal point off the Royal Mile with a sensational selection of drinks and locally sourced Scottish menu

Role Responsibilities

To form an integral part of a highly motivated kitchen team  To provide an efficient, clean and organised wash-up cycle of crockery, cutlery and other goods in the wash-up areas.  To ensure that the kitchen is kept clean and tidy, pots and pans cleaned, maintained and ready for the Chefs use.  To provide a safe working environment in the kitchen, wash up and back of house areas.  Manage the stores and ensure that the food is rotated following the FIDO procedure.  Keeping the back of house clean and tidy.  Maintain the kitchen cleanliness in accordance to food hygiene regulations using correct chemicals on the correct surfaces/appliances.  Ensuring the bin area is neat, clean and tidy.  Clean down the kitchen at the end of each shift, including emptying and cleaning the bins and maintaining the cleanliness of the dishwasher.  Ensuring at the end of the shift that everything is cleaned and the floor is swept and mopped ready for the next days’ business.  Any other reasonable task asked by a member of management.  Cleaning as per the cleaning schedule. Skills & Experience  Knowledge of all HACCP, COSHH and Health and Safety in the workplace.  An interest in obtaining a NVQ in Professional Cookery and Food Preparation.  Excellent organisation skills and ability to avoid a backlog of washing-up.  To have a ”can do” attitude and put customer’s needs first.  Previous Kitchen Porter experience of similar sized concepts preferred.
