The G1 Chef School Programme "Serving Up Success" Is Open Again And Ready For New Students in Edinburgh - Apply Now!
With a national chef shortage it is vital as a business that we invest in up and coming talent around the country.
The Edinburgh G1 Chef School will be based in venues including The Scotsman Hotel, Biddy Mulligans, Murrayfield Hotel, and the Ghillie Dhu. The Chef School will commence in October 2019 and will run for 18 weeks.
Each section will be made up of a mix of group training days at City of Glasgow College, e-learning, on the job training and practical working.
Topics covered on Group Training Days at City of Glasgow College will include: Cultural Foods (advanced vegetables), Bread Making (gluten free cooking), Fish Mongering, Butchery, Game and Wild Fowl and a Foraging Trip
To round off the programme there will be a graduation day for all those who have successfully completed the programme.
On successful completion of the programme you will graduate as a G1 Commis Chef and be supported to progress in further career development.
This programme has a significant cost attached to it which will be covered by Flexible Workforce Development funding and an investment by G1 Group to further develop our kitchen brigades for the future.
The programme is open for internal and external applicants and there is no previous kitchen experience required however applicants must:
- Have a passion to pursue a career as a chef with G1 Group
- Consider that the programme is full time and based in Edinburgh
- Be prepared to fully embrace the 18 week programme inclusive of trips, e-learning & working on shift.
