Area Operations Chef- St Andrews, Perth & Broughty Ferry 

The G1 Group is Scotland’s largest and most diverse hospitality group, with a collection of over 50 venues across Scotland including bars, restaurants, hotels and more.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and talented Area Operations Chef to manage eight of our venues within St Andrews, Perth and Broughty Ferry.

You will be responsible for supporting the operations team to ensure exceptional standards of food and service is provided within our venues such as The Vic, Forgans and Mitchells- to name a few.

The Role:

As an Area Operations Chef your role will include:

  • Reporting into the Director of Food Operations
  • Supporting the Operations Manager and venue management in improving performance, staff retention and development of staff within the kitchens
  • Deliver a multitude of different styles of cooking and provide training to those in the venue teams
  • Ensure all health & safety and hygiene policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Carry out in house audits to identify key areas of improvement and development within the venues
  • Driving the financial targets and communicating this to all kitchen teams so that they fully understand the requirements
  • Using the food retail calendar to drive activity around key events to ensure revenue is fully maximised

The Person:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous Head Chef experience of large volume concepts
  • Proven track record of working in multi-site management
  • Excellent knowledge of HACCP, COSHH and Health and Safety in the workplace
  • Ability to manage weekly reporting of wages/GP’s/Cash margin
  • Exceptional coaching and leadership skills
